How to use it

Guide

Ask it the way you’d ask us.

Short, specific answers to what people actually ask: how to add funds by ticker or ISIN, what the Verify step checks before anything runs, how to test adding another ETF, and how to read overlap, concentration and P/E coverage. New here? Open the app and load an example portfolio to see the whole report with real numbers.

Adding holdings

How do I add my funds?

Four ways in, usable together in one portfolio of up to 25 holdings: search by name, ticker or ISIN; one-tap quick-add for your market’s common funds; paste a list; or upload a file. Individual stocks work the same way and count toward the same company totals as the funds that hold them.

Can I mix US and European funds?

Yes: choose Both as your market. US funds go by ticker; European UCITS funds by ISIN or ticker.

Screenshots and pasting

Can I upload a screenshot of my broker app?

Yes: positions are read line by line. Cash is kept when its weight or amount is visible; total rows are skipped. Spreadsheets (.xlsx, .xlsm, .csv, .tsv, .txt) work the same way.

What can I paste?

Free-form text or a broker table: ticker, ISIN or name, with a percentage or amount. Cash balances are kept, and comma-separated sentences work too.

Fund not found

My fund isn’t found, what happens?

It stays in your portfolio at the weight you set, marked “not in our data,” so your totals stay honest while the catalogue collects it. Nothing is silently dropped or guessed.

What if a line matches the wrong fund?

Before anything runs, the Verify step lists every line next to the fund it matched, each with the date its holdings were disclosed, so you can fix a match or pick from close alternatives first.

Weights

How do weights work?

Give holdings as percentages or as amounts, using one type within a paste. Amounts are converted into shares of their total. A percentage total over 100% is scaled down on analysis; under 100% leaves the rest unallocated rather than inflating what you entered.

Testing another ETF

Can I see what adding another ETF would change?

Yes. Run the free portfolio preview, choose Try an ETF, then search by ticker, ISIN or name. Set the ETF’s final portfolio weight and compare the result with what you hold now. You can compare as many ETFs as you like, one at a time with no account. Active paid access lets you combine up to 3 additions in one scenario.

What changes does the ETF what-if tool show?

It shows how much of the candidate fund you already own, how much exposure is genuinely new, and the change in top-10 concentration, overlap, effective holdings, blended fee, sector, country and asset mix. Your current holdings stay visible while their weights adjust to make room for the candidate.

Why is the P/E change sometimes hidden?

Portfolio P/E is shown only when company-level P/E coverage is at least 75% of the equity sleeve both before and after the change. The tool also shows the equity sleeve’s share of the whole portfolio. Below the threshold, the P/E row stays visible and explains why the figure is withheld.

Reading the numbers

What does 75.1% overlap actually mean?

That share of your money is in companies held through more than one of your funds, counted once, so you can see how much of a second fund you already owned.

What are “effective holdings”?

How many equal-sized positions your portfolio behaves like. 3,819 companies that act like 102 positions is a concentration fact, not a typo.

What’s the verdict at the top of my report?

One plain sentence: how concentrated your money really is, and in what. It is driven by your top-10 weight and largest single position, on a scale from diversified to concentrated.

How is an ETF or portfolio P/E ratio calculated?

We combine the profitable companies’ market values and earnings using portfolio weights, which is the harmonic way to aggregate P/E. Loss-making companies and non-equity holdings do not have a conventional P/E. The page always shows how much of the fund or portfolio weight the figure covers.

Data freshness

How fresh are the holdings?

As fresh as the funds disclose, and every weight carries the date it was held, so the report is only as fresh as its stalest fund, and says so.

US funds · quarterly
EU funds · monthly

Where does the data come from?

The funds’ own published holdings, with the date each was disclosed carried through to every weight in your report.

Plans and pricing

Do I need an account?

No. The portfolio preview and ETF what-if tool are free with no sign-up, and you can compare as many ETFs as you like.

What does signing in add before I buy?

Signing in creates the account used for checkout, receipts and account controls. It does not by itself unlock saved portfolios or the full company list; the free preview and what-if tool work the same without an account.

What does the one-time purchase add?

For €14, it unlocks every company you own, ranked, weighted and dated; each company’s path through your funds; the overlap matrix, portfolio P/E, concentration, geography and currency in full; and PDF and Excel export. It unlocks up to 2 portfolio reports with 20 holdings each, with 30 days to edit and re-run. During those 30 days, you can also compare up to 3 ETF additions together. The saved reports remain viewable after the editing window ends. Reweighting the same fund set stays free; deleting it does not restore its unlock.

What will the monthly subscription add?

The €22/month subscription is upcoming but not yet on sale. At launch it will cover up to 5 portfolio reports, saved to your account, with 25 holdings each, re-analysed as often as you like. It will include every underlying company, the complete overlap and exposure report, fund prices, valuations and performance where available, PDF and Excel exports, saved portfolios, and scenarios with up to 3 ETF additions together. Deleting a portfolio does not restore its unlock. The app can notify you when checkout opens.
