Privacy
ETF Trace is built to tell you what you own without learning what it is worth. We never ask for, see, or store your account balances or position sizes.
What we collect
When you create an account: your email address and a hashed password. When you use the tool: the fund tickers or ISINs you enter, and the portfolios you choose to save. When you buy: your payment status from PayPal (we never receive your card details). If you ask to be notified when the subscription plan launches, we keep that email address for the launch announcement only; account deletion removes it, and you can ask us to remove it at any time. While you are signed in we record when your account was active, to the nearest five minutes, so we can see which parts of the product get used; this holds no IP address and no record of the pages you viewed, it is deleted after 180 days, and it is included in the copy of your data you can request. We also keep standard server logs (IP address, request time) to run and secure the service.
If you choose Share on an ETF what-if comparison, we store the ETF names, weights and aggregate before-and-after figures behind an opaque public link for 90 days. The shared snapshot contains no account identifier or company-level holdings. Anyone with the link can view it until it expires.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. It runs under Consent Mode v2 and is denied by default: no analytics cookie is set and no measurement is sent until you choose Accept in the cookie banner. Choose Decline and analytics stays off. You can change your choice by clearing this site's data in your browser. We use no advertising cookies and do not sell or share your data.
We send only transactional email: address verification, receipts, and your report when it is ready. Delivery is handled by Resend.
